Mometasone Furoate Cream is used for treating itching, redness, and swelling of many skin conditions. This is a topical corticosteroid. It works by decreasing inflammatory reactions and modifying immune reactions in the body. It may be used in pediatric patients 2 years of age or older, while the safety and efficiency of drug use for longer than 3 weeks have not been recognized. So its use in this age group is not approved.

Mometasone Furoate cream can be more effective if used with necessary safety measures. Some of these measures can be described in the following lines.

Avoid use of this topical if, you are allergic to any ingredient in Mometasone Cream.Apply it only for the skin problem for which it is intended.

Patient should not bandage or cover the treated area unless told to do so by your doctor. If this cream has been prescribed to treat the diaper area of a child, do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants.

This is for external use only. Do not let this cream contact with the eyes. Do not use Mometasone Cream on the face, underarms, or groin area unless advised to do so by your doctor.

Patients should discontinue using this preparation when the skin area returns to normal. Contact your health care provider if you don’t experience development within 2 weeks.

Ask your doctor before using other medicine containing steroids. If you don’t know whether your other medications contain corticosteroids, consult your pharmacist. If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor.

When using this drug in children, it is essential to use caution; they may be more sensitive to its effects. Mometasone Cream should not be used in children younger than 2 years old; as security and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed. It may hinder growth rate in children and teenagers in some cases. They may need regular growth checks while they use this medicine.

If you happen to be pregnant, contact your doctor. Talk about the benefits and risks of using Mometasone Cream while you are pregnant. It is unidentified if it is found in breast milk. So if you are or will be breast-feeding while you use it, check with your doctor. Check any possible risks to your baby.
