Melacare Hydroquinone Tretionoin Cream and Its Uses

 

 

Mometasone furoate cream is a medium potency corticosteroid indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid- responsive dermatoses.

Dosage and Administration

Apply Mometasone Cream as told by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

Apply a small coat of Mometasone Cream to the affected area once daily. Then you need to gently rub the medicine in until it is completely spread. Wash your hands after applying the cream.

If you miss a dose of Mometasone Cream, use it as soon as possible. But avoid excess use of this medication at once.

Before Using Mometasone Cream

Some medical conditions can cause adverse impact if used Mometasone Cream. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances. Your doctor must know about your pregnancy. You also inform if you are breast-feeding. Ensure to notify your health care provider if you have acne-like lesions; measles; inflammation around your mouth; positive tuberculin skin test; tuberculosis; varicella (chickenpox); have recently had a vaccination; have a skin infection or atrophy (wasting) of your skin. Also let him know about prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement, if you using.

Possible side effects of Mometasone Cream

Mometasone Creammay give rise to side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. The patient may experience skin thinning and discoloration; burning; flushing; itching; redness; second infection; swelling; tingling/stinging; wasting of the skin. Seek help of your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or worsen. Beside the above side effects, there are possibilities of some SEVERE side effects including: severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue). Other side effects may also occur.

Drug interaction

 

A total of 39 drugs (132 brand and generic names) are known to interact with mometasone topical. They include: DiaBeta (glyburide), Diabinese (chlorpropamide), Duetact (glimepiride/pioglitazone), Dymelor (acetohexamide), Exubera (insulin inhalation, rapid acting), Fortamet (metformin), Glimepiride, glimepiride/pioglitazone, glimepiride/rosiglitazone and glipizide. This list does not contail all drugs. There are also other drugs that have serious effects if used together with this medication.

 

 

Special Precaution

Pregnancy and lactation are two conditions in which patients should avoid this treatment. Keep away from contact with eyes and on abraded or sunburnt skin. Do not allow unnecessary exposure to sunlight. Limit application to area no larger than face and neck or hands and arms. It should not be used when itching, vesicle formation, or excessive inflammation occurs. Discontinue application if there is no improvement after 2 mth of treatment. Its use should be avoided in children younger than 2 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
